Germany's benchmark DAX index closes up

The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Monday went up by over 100 points to close at 11,604.78 points.

The recovery of the Shanghai Stock exchange made investors here optimistic and the blue-chip index added 113.95 points, or 0.99 percent, according to local analysts.

Allianz SE led the risers the list with an increase of 2.64 percent. Deutsche Telekom AG advanced by 1.99 percent. Siemens AG climbed by 1.72 percent. K+S Aktiengesellschaft, a supplier of standard and speciality fertilizers, rose by 1.4 percent and Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA, a health care group, went up by 1.4 percent.

The utilities company E.ON SE was the only one among the 30 DAX member shares that dropped. It lost 0.58 percent.

The turnover stood at 2.52 billion euros (around 2.76 billion U.S. dollars). Allianz SE was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 249.27 million euros (around 273.28 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
