Macedonia launches auction on lease of state-owned agricultural land

Macedonia government launched on Monday a public bid for state-owned agricultural land in a total space of some 4,565 hectares through electronic auction, Macedonia's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy announced.

The state-owned agricultural land scatters in the regions of Sveti Nikole, Struga, Resen and Strumica, minimum investments and construction of objects for primary processing of agricultural products - facilities for breeding cattle have been requested on some of these land unit.

The size of the area of the state-owned agricultural land that can be leased by one bidder will be determined on the base of the minimum material-technical equipment of the bidder and the number of planned employments, according to the announcement of the ministry.

The periods of the lease are decided by the produce the investors will plant or the kinds of facilities to be built on the land.

Before the concluding of the lease contract, the bidders are requested to submit a statement on the execution of the business plan and a bank guarantee for fulfillment of the business plan.

The initial price per hectare for the auction will be determined depending on the cadastre class and location of the land, the highest offer for the rent through the electronic public bidding shall be granted.

Both domestic and foreign companies are invited to take part in the auction. The potential bidder can apply within the next 60 days. Endit
