African nations Uganda, Malawi book Netball World Cup quarters

Uganda and Malawi are the two African nations that have qualified for the quarterfinals at the on-going 2015 Netball World Cup in Sydney, Australia.
The She Cranes as the Ugandan national team is named has already registered two wins in Group D against Zambia (74-38) and Fiji (61-40). They will play their last match against eighth ranked Wales on Monday to determine which group they join for the quarterfinals which will also be played on a round robin basis in a group of four.
"The achievement by the Ugandan team is very remarkable because no Ugandan team has reached such a level at a World Cup competition," William Blick, President Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) told Xinhua on Sunday.
Malawi who are ranked fifth by the International Netball Federation (INF) are the other African nation that have qualified for the last eight after topping Group C with wins over Singapore, Sri Lanka and South Africa.
The Malawi team have also been the highest scoring team in a particular match after seeing off Sri Lanka 101-18. Malawi has already joined world second ranked New Zealand in the group for quarterfinals, while a win for Uganda She Cranes in the last group game could see them join hosts Australia and England and the runner-up from Group C.
Zambia the other African nation at the World Cup has already joined other nations Samoa, Trinidad & Tobago, Sri Lanka, Barbados among others in the classification groups. The Netball World Cup which started on August 8th will climax on August 16th with best team bagging gold, silver and bronze medals. Endi
