Five suspects have been arrested in Gourma-Rharous locality in northern Mali region of Timbuktu, after Monday's attack on a Malian military camp in the same locality, which left 11 soldiers dead, security sources told Xinhua on Thursday.

"The five were arrested for being in possession of military uniforms of the killed soldiers while others were identified by local populations," the sources added.

Speaking to Xinhua on phone, the Communications Director for the Malian army, Lt. Col. Souleymane Maiga confirmed the arrest of the five suspects. The officer said the suspects were being held by the gendarmerie. Endit
