Mongolian parliament dismisses six ministers

Xinhua, August 7, 2015 Adjust font size:

Mongolia's parliament on Thursday endorsed Prime Minister Chimed Saikhanbileg's proposal to relieve six ministers from the Mongolian People's Party of their duties.

The sacked include Deputy Prime Minister Ukhnaa Khurelsukh and the ministers of finance and labor.

Saikhanbileg submitted the draft resolution to the legislature on Wednesday, after receiving a response from President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj, who refused to support the dismissals.

The move, said the president, may exert negative influence on the country's economy, society, international reputation and people's lives and lead to political instability.

Yet at a plenary session of the parliament, a majority of the lawmakers supported the move. Endi
