Iran will continue supports to its regional allies in the face of common threats, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif said on Thursday.
"What has caused insecurity and expansion of terrorism and extremism in the region is unconsidered actions and policies of the U.S. governments and some of its regional allies, particularly the Zionist regime (of Israel)," Zarif was quoted as saying by Iran's Foreign Ministry website.
The United States should "correct its wrong policies" in supporting Israel which has committed "crimes" against the Palestinians, he said.
"Peace, security and stability in the region has ever been Iran's top priority ... and Iran is ready to cooperate with its neighbors to tackle regional and international issues," Zarif said.
Iran has always stressed peaceful and friendly relations with its neighbors, and at the same time Tehran will never slacken in supporting its allies in the face of perils, he added.
Iran's recent nuclear deal proved that even the "fabricated crises" could be solved through dialogue and interaction based on mutual respect, he said.
On Wednesday, Zarif called for political and diplomatic efforts as the "only means to solve the Syrian crisis."
The resistance of the Syrian people against terrorism has paved the way for eliminating the threats against the country, which requires stepping up diplomatic efforts to settle the ongoing conflicts, Zarif said. Endit
