Sun Yang makes 800m free final at Kazan worlds

China's Olympic champion Sun Yang made the men's 800m freestyle final with a sixth finish in the heats at the Kazan world championships here on Tuesday.

Sun timed seven minutes 47.84 seconds in the heats led by Connor Jaeger of the United States who finished in 7:47.77.

The world record of the 800m free is held by China's Zhang Lin in Rome worlds 2009 with a time of 7:32.12.

Sun, winner of the 400m free in Kazan on Sunday, will take part in the 200m free final later Tuesday. Endi
