Albania destroys 9,000 cannabis roots during weekend

Albanian state police said on Sunday that forces in continuing operation against cannabis cultivation have destroyed over 9,000 roots of cannabis during the weekend.

State police said they found 4,996 cannabis roots in Delvina. The plants were planted in three parcels recently opened in the area called Mesopotam.

According to police authorities, the investigations have started for the identification and then the arrest of the owners.

Meanwhile, on Saturday 4,000 other cannabis roots were destroyed in another operation in Vlora, Kolonja and Kurbin.

In the first half of 2015, police have destroyed over 250,000 narcotic plants throughout the country. Endit
