Macao congratulates Beijing on winning 2022 Winter Olympic bid

Chief Executive Chui Sai On of China 's Macao Special Administrative Region on Friday congratulated Beijing on winning the bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympic Games.

In a letter, Chui said Beijing's successful bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympic Games showed the world its strength and confidence in holding international sports events.

It also marked that China has taken a further step in the world sports, winning the respect and trust of the international community, Chui said. "We believe Beijing will keep its promise to make athlete- centered, sustainable and economical games in their preparations and sincerely wish 2022 Winter Olympics a great success," Chui added.

Beijing beat Almaty of Kazakhstan in the IOC vote held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Friday. Endi
