Egypt's U-23 arrive in Uganda ahead of Olympic qualifier

Xinhua, July 31, 2015 Adjust font size:

The national U-23 team of Egypt arrived in Uganda on Thursday ahead of a 2016 Olympic Games/2015 Africa U-23 Championship qualifier.

Led by Muhamed Kahraba who netted two goals in their 4-0 win over Uganda in the first leg, the Egyptian team arrived aboard an Ethiopian Airlines at the Entebbe International Airport.

Two goals by Kahraba and one each by Mohamed Salem and Mohamoud Trezeguet were enough to silence the Ugandan side at the Borg El-Arab Stadium last week. "We are here for serious business. But we shall not underrate our opponents because we know they could prove dangerous at home," said Trezeguet.

The second leg will be played at the 42,500 capacity Mandela National Stadium on Saturday.

But the Ugandan coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic told Xinhua he has warned that the visiting team should not expect to find it easy here. "We know what top expect, but we shall try to make home advantage count," added Sredojevic.

Uganda ejected Rwanda on a 4-1 goal aggregate to qualify for the final phase of the qualifiers. In-case Egypt eliminate Uganda they will qualify for the 2015 CAF U-23 Championship to take place in Senegal in December. The three best teams at the African event will automatically qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.
