Mineiro's Pratto hat-trick sinks Sao Paulo

Xinhua, July 30, 2015 Adjust font size:

Lucas Pratto bagged a hat-trick as Atletico Mineiro maintained their two-point buffer at the top of Brazil's Serie A standings on Wednesday with a 3-1 win over Sao Paulo.

Pratto netted three times in 24 first-half minutes to all but secure his side victory before halftime at the Mineirao stadium.

Brazil international striker Alexandre Pato pulled a goal back just before the hour but it was only a consolation as Atletico romped to their 11th win of the season.

In Wednesday's only other match, Corinthians defeated Vasco da Gama 3-0 at Arena Corinthians.

Renato Augusto, Gil and Elias were all on target for the hosts, as they maintained second place in the standings. Endi
