At least two school children were killed and four others injured in a mishap in the eastern Indian state of Jharkhand Thursday, a senior police official said.

"The mishap happened when a train engine crashed into their school van in the state's Lohardaga district while they were on their way to school," he said, on condition of anonymity.

While two children died on the spot, those injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital by local residents, the official said.

A probe has been ordered into the incident, he added. Endi
