Urgent: India executes man for role in 1993 Mumbai blasts

India executed a 54-year-old Yakub Memon for his role in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, after the Supreme Court rejected his last-minute petition to stop his hanging in an unprecedented pre-dawn hearing.

He was hanged around 7 a.m. local time at a prison in the western state of Maharashtra's city of Nagpur. Endi
