Israeli drone raids Palestinian group positions in Lebanon

Xinhua, July 30, 2015 Adjust font size:

An Israeli drone raided positions of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine in Lebanon, on border with Syria, an official with the group confirmed on Wednesday.

In an interview with el-Nashra news website, official of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command (FPLP-GC) in Lebanon Abou Imad Ramez denied that a member of the front was killed in the attack that took place in the Bekaa region of Qosaya.

But, he confirmed that six members of the PFLP-GC were wounded, and one of them in a critical condition.

Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA) said a member of the front was killed during an explosion inside the front's positions in Qosaya.

Two military vehicles belonging to the PFLP-GC were also destroyed in the blast, according to the NNA report.

Earlier media reports said that the explosion took place at the group's weapons depot in the area.

PFLP-GC official Anwar Raja told al-Mayadeen TV that "Israeli air strikes targeted our position in Qosaya, wounding six people."

He explained that the post overlooks Syria's al-Zabadani area, which has been witnessing fighting between regime forces, backed by Hezbollah, and rebel groups. Endit
