Bulgarian military transport aircraft lands on belly, no casualties

A Bulgarian military transport plane PC-12 landed without landing gear on Graf Ignatievo Air Base on Wednesday, and the crew was unharmed, the Defense Ministry said in a press release.

According to the ministry, flights at the airport, one of the four joint U.S.-Bulgarian military bases in the Balkan country, were temporarily suspended.

The accident was under investigation, the ministry added.

Bulgaria has one Swiss-made PC-12, a single-engine turboprop passenger and cargo aircraft. It was acquired in 2003. Endit
