The Afghan government is examining the report on the death of Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar, deputy spokesman Zafar Hashemi for Afghan President Ashraf Ghani said here Wednesday at a news conference.

Earlier, an Afghan official who declined to be named said Omar is dead.

However, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid utterly rejected the report as baseless, saying he is "alive". Endi
