Pato eyes Europe return

Xinhua, July 28, 2015 Adjust font size:

Sao Paulo striker Alexandre Pato has showed his willingness to return to Europe to reignite his stalled international career.

The 25-year-old was once considered among the game's most promising attackers, scoring 51 goals from 117 matches for AC Milan from 2007 to 2015.

But his past five seasons have been blighted by injuries and he was overlooked for Brazil's 2014 World Cup squad.

"What I did there (in Europe) isn't over," Pato was quoted saying by Brazilian football news portal Sambafoot on Monday. "I want to go back and play in Europe."

Pato has this year scored 17 goals and provided seven assists for Sao Paulo, where he is in the final year of a two-year loan from Corinthians. Endi
