Liaoning cruises to women's volleyball tournament semifinals in Vietnam

The Chinese volleyball club of Liaoning has made a three-match winning streak on Monday afternoon, gaining the first berth to semifinals of the 2015 International Women's Volleyball Tournament - VTV Cup in Vietnam' s southern Bac Lieu province.

With better receivers, setters and blockers, Liaoning defeated their compatriot players from Nanjing University 3-0 with the scores of 25-14, 25-23 and 25-17. In the first set, Liaoning often maintained the lead over Nanjing by around four points.

Earlier, Liaoning beat Thailand and the Democratic People' s Republic of Korea (DPRK) with the same final score of 3-0. Meanwhile, Nanjing lost 0-3 to both the DPRK and Vietnam.

Vietnam will clash Thailand on Monday evening.

The tournament, lasting from July 25 to August 1, hosts six teams from China, the DPRK, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. Endi
