7 missing after cloudburst hit Indian-controlled Kashmir

Xinhua, July 24, 2015 Adjust font size:

Seven people went missing after a cloudburst, triggering flash flood, hit Indian-controlled Kashmir's Ladakh division, police said Friday.

The cloudburst hit Ladakh's Nubra Valley, about 115 km north of Leh town.

"Seven people are missing in Nubra Valley of Ladakh after a cloudburst and flash flood hit the place," a police spokesman in Srinagar said.

Reports said the family have gone to graze their livestock in the area.

"So far they are missing and for the past four days there has been no communication with them," the spokesman said.

Last week five people were killed in a cloudburst in Ganderbal district of the region. Endi
