The Brazilian economy is showing signs of improvement, Finance Minister Joaquim Levy said on Thursday.
In an interview with local news TV channel Globonews, Levy commented on the Brazilian economy's performance in the first half of 2015 and held a optimistic attitude to its future.
"We stopped getting worse on a structural perspective and we are now starting to get better," he said.
Since the beginning of 2015, the government took a series of measures to counter the Brazilian economy's poor performance in the first quarter of 2015.
Earlier this week, the government announced a cut of 8.6 billion reals (2.66 billion U.S. dollars) in federal budget, bringing the total cuts to 79.4 billion reals (24.62 billion dollars) with the major one announced at the beginning of the year. Endi
