25 Taliban militants killed in S. Afghanistan

A total of 25 Taliban militants were killed and 22 others injured as clash erupted in Musa Qala and Kajaki districts of the southern Helmand province on Wednesday night, Interior Ministry said in a statement released here on Thursday.

"Taliban militants raided security checkpoints in Musa Qala and Kajaki districts last night which triggered gun battle and had left 25 attacking insurgents dead and another 22 injured," the statement added.

However, the statement didn't say if there were casualties on security personnel.

Taliban has so far made no comment.

Helmand has been regarded as Taliban hotbed in the militancy- plagued Afghanistan. Endi
