Volkswagen China delivers 1.74 mln automobiles in H1

Volkswagen Group China delivered 1.74 million automobiles to market in the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong in the first half of this year, the company said on Thursday.

The automobiles jointly delivered by Volkswagen Group China, Shanghai Volkswagen and FAW-Volkswagen also include 91,200 imported models.

About 273,900 Audis have been delivered in the first six months, up 1.9 percent year on year.

In the luxury market, 29,400 Porsches and more than 100 Lamborghinis were delivered during the same period, up 48 percent and 66 percent year on year respectively.

Volkswagen will introduce 60 new models in 2015, 15 of which will be specially designed for the Chinese market, said Jochem Heizmann, President of Volkswagen Group China. Endi
