Wolfsburg snap up midfielder Francisco Rodriguez

Xinhua, July 22, 2015 Adjust font size:

FC Zurich' s midfielder Francisco Rodriguez moved to Bundesliga side Wolfsburg, the "Wolves" confirmed via the club' s official homepage on Wednesday.

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder, whose brother Ricardo Francisco plays since 2012 for Wolfsburg, has put pen to paper on a three-year deal, until June 2018. He received the jersey number 35 at his new club.

"He is strong, fast, technically gifted and plays good through balls. He already earned a lot of experiences despite his young age," Wolfsburg' s CEO Klaus Allofs said.

The Swiss Under-19 international made for Zurich 28 appearances to score two goals. He also made six official games in the UEFA Europa League.

"I am very happy that my transfer to Wolfsburg worked out. I can prove myself here at the highest level. Furthermore, a dream has come true as I can play with my brother in one team for the first time," the new arrival said.

The "Wolves" encounter Eintracht Frankfurt for their first game of the new season on August 16. Endi
