Albania to intensify crackdown on organized crime

Albanian department of state police and immovable property registration office on Tuesday signed an agreement of cooperation on the fight against organized crime, money laundering and corruption and abuse of various public institutions.

The agreement will facilitate joint work and information exchange between the respective structures, according to officials.

Director of the state police Haki Cako said the agreement is important for strengthening information exchange in real time and will serve the main priority of fighting money laundering and confiscating of assets of the individuals and criminal groups.

The cooperation will realize making access to the electronic system of the central immovable property registration's data in real time, which will significantly reduce the time of the transactions related to the collection and exchange of information. Endit
