Thai parliamentary leader Pornpetch Wichitcholchai said here Tuesday that his country hopes very much for China to help build high-speed rail as soon as possible so as to further improve domestic infrastructure.

WASHINGTON -- Ohio Governor John Kasich, a 63- year-old Republican who bucked his party by expanding Medicaid under President Obama's health care, announced Tuesday that he was joining his party's long list of candidates for the country's Presidential election in 2016.

Kasich became the 16th prominent Republican to enter the 2016 campaign. "I have decided to run for president of the United States," he told a crowd at Ohio State University, his alma mater. (US-Presidential Election)

BAGHDAD -- A total of 34 people were killed and 51 wounded on Tuesday in clashes with Islamic State (IS) militants, U.S.-led coalition air strikes and a suicide car bomb attacks in central and western Iraq, security sources said.

The troops and allied paramilitary militias known as Hashd Shaabi, or popular mobilization, repelled an attack by dozens of IS militants with three suicide car bombs on military bases in Shieha area in north of the IS-held city of Fallujah, some 50 km west of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, a provincial security source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
