Urgent: Obama says China plays important role in Iranian nuclear talks

Chinese President Xi Jinping and his U.S. counterpart Barack Obama on Tuesday exchanged views via telephone on the recent nuclear agreement reached between Iran and world powers.

Xi said China would continue its constructive cooperation with all the parties involved, including the United States, so as to ensure the implementation of the nuclear deal and the UN Security Council resolution.

Obama, for his part, said that China had played an important role during the Iranian nuclear talks that resulted in a comprehensive agreement. Endi
