Pele discharged from hospital

Xinhua, July 21, 2015 Adjust font size:

Brazil soccer legend Pele was discharged from hospital on Monday after back surgery.

The 74-year-old had been admitted to Sao Paulo's Alberto Einstein hospital on Thursday for treatment on a trapped nerve.

"(We) inform that Edson Arantes do Nascimento was discharged today. The patient left hospital at 4 p.m.," the hospital said in a statement.

The three-time World Cup winner, considered by many as the greatest ever footballer, had prostate surgery at the same hospital in May.

Last November he was hospitalized with a urinary infection after having kidney stones removed. Endi
