Germany's benchmark DAX index closes up

The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Monday went up by over 60 points at 11,735.72 points.

As the worries about the Greek debt issue disappeared, investors are willing to take risks again, according to local analysts. The blue-chip index added 62.3 points, or 0.53 percent.

Deutsche Bank AG topped the list of risers with an increase of 1.56 percent. Continental AG advanced by 1.55 percent. ThyssenKrupp AG climbed by 1.34 percent. Fresenius Medical Care AG & Co. rose by 1.32 percent and Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA, health care group, went up by 1.32 percent.

On the other hand, Deutsche Boerse AG lost 0.84 percent. Volkswagen AG Vz slipped by 0.83 percent. Infineon Technologies AG, a semiconductor producer, dropped by 0.79 percent and adidas AG plunged by 0.62 percent. Bayer AG went down by 0.55 percent.

The turnover stood at 2.94 billion euros (around 3.18 billion U.S. dollars). Bayer AG was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 250.38 million euros. (1 euro = 1.08 U.S. dollars). Enditem
