Tajikistan's Nazarov wins men's hammer throw at Znamensky Memorial in Russia

Tajikistan's Dilshod Nazarov, currently number two on the 2015 world lists, had his second-best competition of the season when he threw 78.29 meters to claim the victory at the Znamensky Memorial meeting, part of the IAAF Hammer Throw Challenge, in Zhukovsky, Russia, Tajikistan's National Olympic Committee said Monday.

Nazarov's best effort came in the fifth round, when he took the lead from Slovakia' s Marcel Lomnicky, who threw 77.50 meters with his second attempt, while Russian Sergey Litvinov finished third with 77.00 meters.

Nazarov, defending champion and three-times successive Asian Games gold medalist, leads the continental lists with his 79.36m throw achieved during the 54th edition of Golden Spikes IAAF World Challenge at Ostrava, the Czech Republic, on May 25, 2015.

He also won tickets to the 2015 IAAF World Championships to be held in Beijing on August 22-30 and to the 2016 Rio Olympics. Endi
