Strong earthquake jolts Barbados, no damage

A strong earthquake struck off Barbados on Thursday and was widely felt across the Caribbean, but no damage or injuries have been reported so far.

According to the latest update of the U.S. Geological Survey, the tremor, which occurred 15:16 GMT, measured magnitude-6.5 and was centered 142 km northeast of capital Bridgetown at a depth of 10 km.

The USGS also reported two minor quakes in the area on the same day.

The temblors made many local residents nervous, but authorities have not reported any damage or casualties. Endi
