Pakistan has summoned Indian envoy and lodged a protest over the alleged intrusion of a spy aircraft into its part of Kashmir, the Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.

The Pakistan army said that an Indian spy drone was brought down on Wednesday.

An army statement said the spy drone was shot down by Pakistani troops which intruded into Pakistan along the Line of Control near Bhimber sector. The LoC divides the two countries in the disputed Kashmir region.

Foreign office spokesperson Qazi Khalilluah confirmed that the Indian diplomat had been summoned and that the issue of the " Indian spy drone" and violation of Pakistan airspace raised.

The army said the spy drone is used for aerial photography.

In India, the media has quoted a spokesperson for the Indian military as saying that"No drone or UAV crash of the Indian Army has taken place."

The incident came just days after Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi in Russia.

The meeting between the two came months of a break in high level contacts over exchange of harsh statements and the exchange fire on the LoC.

Pakistan media has reported that at least three people were killed and eight others injured as Indian Border Security Force ( BSF) "resorted to unprovoked firing" along the working boundary in Sialkot on Thursday. Endi
