With the recent nuclear deal between Iran and the world major powers, the nuclear program of the country will shift from confrontation to scientific and commercial activities, Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif said here on Wednesday.

Iran will use all its technological and software capacities as well as the global technologies to move towards commercial uranium enrichment and advanced nuclear program, Zarif said upon arriving in the capital Tehran on Wednesday. (Iran-Nuclear Deal)

KIEV -- At least eight people were killed and 18 others wounded over the past 24 hours in renewed violence in eastern Ukraine, reports showed Wednesday.

Government military spokesman Andriy Lysenko said eight Ukrainian soldiers were killed and 16 others injured in the past day, which marked the highest daily casualties of the Ukrainian army since early June. (Ukraine-Violence)

ISLAMABAD -- The Pakistan army on Wednesday claimed to have shot down an Indian spy drone for violating territorial boundaries and for suspicious activities in the Pakistan administered area of Jammu and Kashmir, local media reported.

Local Urdu TV channel Express News, quoting the Pakistan army's mouth piece the - Inter Services Public Relations - said that the Indian drone was shot down in the Bhimber sector of Jammu and Kashmir for violating the Line of Control (LOC). (Pakistan-India-Drone)

TIKRIT -- Iraqi security forces Wednesday repelled an attack by Islamic State (IS) militants, including a suicide bombing in the oil refinery town of Baiji in the Salahudin province, killing at least 12 IS militants and 12 security members, a provincial security source said.

The attack occurred in the early morning hours as a suicide bomber rammed his explosive-laden truck into the posts of the troops and allied paramilitary militias, known as Hashd Shaabi, or popular mobilization, in the central part of the town of Baiji, 200 km north of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, the source informed Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
