Singapore stocks close 0.67 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 22. 36 points, or 67 percent, to close at 3,338.86.

A total of 1.24 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 860.2 million Singapore dollars (632.5 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 231 to 209, while 520 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 31.34 points, or 96 percent, to close at 3, 311.22 on Tuesday. Endi
