Myanmar state airline to launch 1st int'l flight to Singapore

Xinhua, July 15, 2015 Adjust font size:

Myanmar National Airline (MNA) will launch its first international flight of Yangon to Singapore on August 17, official media reported Wednesday.

Using a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, the first flight service of MNA after a 22-year hiatus will run Sunday through Friday, said the Global New Light of Myanmar.

Daily flights are scheduled to start from October.

MNA has also planned to fly four destinations in the Asia Pacific region in early 2016 such as China's Hong Kong and Chinese Taipei.

MNA, renamed from state-run Myanmar Airways (MA) in December last year after corporatization, has planned to lease these new model aircraft from U.S.-based GE Capital Aviation Services. MNA has planned to fly new destinations with new Boeing airbuses and to give new services because of increased competition among airlines. Endi
