Albanian police and forces of rapid intervention destroyed over 10,000 cannabis sativa plants on Tuesday in Kruja, a few kilometers north of Tirana.

Narcotic plants were found grown on 154 little parcels close to each other near the village of Mafsheq and were burnt down by police who detained the initiator of drugs cultivation for questioning in order to bring the cultivators to justice, according to Albanian Daily News.

In the village Kumbull of Mirdita, police destroyed a plot, in which about 50 narcotic plants suspected to be cannabis sativa were cultivated, and started the criminal proceedings against the head of the village for misuse of authority. The police said that some suspected possessors of narcotics were detained.

During an operation in Gjobardhaj village, two parcels were found in which 400 plants suspected to be cannabis sativa were cultivated. A 62- year-old suspected cultivator was arrested by police. Endi
