Tokyo shares end higher by break on overseas gains

Tokyo shares ended the morning session higher on Wednesday tracing gains in overnight oversea markets.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was up 84.28 points, or 0.41 percent, from Tuesday to end the morning session at 20,469.61.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 6.20 points, or 0.38 percent, at 1,644. 91. Endi
