Singapore has not suffered any financial impact from the Greek debt crisis, said Singapore's Culture, Community and Youth Minister Lawrence Wong in Parliament on Tuesday.
As a board member of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), the country's central bank, Wong responded to a question in Parliament about the financial impact of Greek debt crisis, saying Singapore is only exposed financially to the lender and not to borrowing countries.
Wong said that Singapore's loan commitment under the International Monetary Fund (IMF)'s 2012 borrowing arrangements has not been activated as IMF has sufficient financial resources for its current lending programs.
Wong also noted that Singapore is closely watching the developments in Greece, saying this can have "knock-on effects on investor confidence." Endi
