Afghan president welcomes Iran nuclear deal

Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Tuesday welcomed the Iran nuclear deal reached in Vienna, said an official statement.

"President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani welcomed the nuclear agreement between Islamic Republic of Iran and the 5+1 states," the statement issued by the Afghan Presidential Palace here said.

The Afghan leader congratulated "the government and people of Islamic Republic of Iran on the occasion and reiterates that the government of Afghanistan welcomes any efforts that result in expansion of political and economic relations between states as well as consolidation and strengthening of peace and stability in the region," according to the statement.

Earlier on Tuesday, after more than two weeks of intensive talks in Vienna, Austria's capital city, six world's major countries, including China, France, Germany, Russia, Britain and the United States, along with Teheran agreed on a 100-page accord. Endi
