Singapore stocks close 0.16 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 5.28 points, or 16 percent, to close at 3,316.50.

A total of 1.22 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 892.4 million Singapore dollars (656.2 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 222 to 216, while 527 others finished unchanged.
