The successful run at Wimbledon has pushed Ly Hoang Nam 34 places up in the world rankings, local newspaper Vietnam News on Tuesday quoted the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) as reporting.

Nam is now ranked 1,242nd - the best ranking in his career as well as a new high for tennis in Vietnam.

Nam and his Indian partner Sumit Nagal won the boys' doubles trophy on Sunday. They have been given a wild card to compete in the men's doubles event in London next year.

The International Tennis Federation has not announced its latest ranking for juniors, but it is expected that Nam, currently at No 12, will be among the top 10. Endit
