Contra expects victory after returning to Yuexiu Mountain Stadium

Xinhua, July 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

Guangzhou R&F will host Shanghai SIPG on Sunday for their first match after returning to Yuexiu Mountain Stadium which R&F coach Cosmin Contra hoped to snatch three full points.

Guangzhou R&F have not played at the stadium for a couple of rounds due to the turf issue, and Contra said that the team had always been expecting to move back.

"All of us are looking forward to returning to the stadium, now it comes true, tomorrow's match is our debut after coming back, I hope that our team can take a comfortable victory," he said.

Guangzhou R&F missed the quarter-final in the Chinese FA Cup after being eliminated by Shanghai SIPG three days ago, but Contra showed his confidence ahead of the second clash after four days.

"We're well prepared, we have realized a lot about our opponents through the last match against Shanghai SIPG, we had not made any mistakes until the penalty in the 60th minute in the match and showed a high spirit, I believe we will win a lot of matches if we can remain this spirit."

In addition, the Romanian didn't deny the rumor about R&F's interest in the Chile international Jorge Luis Valdivia.

"He is our possible signing in the attacking midfielder position, but I don't know the details, we should concentrate more on tomorrow's match," he said. Endi
