The Albanian government has come up with an action plan and a new strategy to prevent and root out radicalism and extremism in the country, Albanian Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri said.

Addressing the conference "Religious radicalism and extremism", Tahiri said fight against religious radicalism and extremism are high on the agenda of Albania, Albanian Telegraphic Agency reported on Friday.

According to him, there is an exemplary religious co-habitation in Albania which needs to be preserved as a model.

"Our country has come up with an action plan on the fight against extremism increasing cooperation with all stakeholders who have contributed to fight against terrorism," Tahiri said.

Fight against this phenomenon requires a sound and efficient education system to promote the social values, said the minister. Endit
