New app to help tourists experience best of Irish design

Xinhua, July 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

A new app was launched Friday to help foreign tourists as well as Irish people discover and experience the best of Irish design.

The app, Design Island, features curated recommendations from design experts and enthusiasts on things to do and places to visit, allowing users to experience the best that the island of Ireland has to offer from a design perspective.

The app has been developed for use during and beyond the Irish Design 2015 program, a year-long initiative backed by the Irish government promoting and celebrating Irish design in Ireland and internationally in order to drive job creation, grow exports and increase competitiveness.

Creation of the new app has been led by a team at IBM's recently launched design studio in Dublin, which is being expanded at the IBM Technology Campus in Dublin's Damastown for creative collaboration by designers, developers and product managers. Endit
