Syrian parliament deputy chairman Fahmi Hasan who heads a Syrian delegation that is on an official visit to the Czech Republic, said in a press conference held at the Czech Chamber of Deputies on Friday that the security situation in Syria has been markedly improving.

Hasan said Syria succeeded in preventing terrorism from penetrating into other countries. When talked about the refugee issue, Hasan said the best solution would be to give the refugees opportunity to return to their home country.

Hasan thanked the Czech Republic for maintaining diplomatic relations when the security situation worsened in Syria and invited Czech politicians to visit Syria.

Czech lower house deputy chairman Vojtech Filip said that there is no purely military solution to the conflict in Syria and a political compromise needs to be sought permanently and patiently.
