1st LD Writethru: Remains of missing Indian coast guard Dornier aircraft found

The remains of an Indian Coast Guard Dornier aircraft, missing for over a month, have been found but there is no information about its three crew members, said local media Friday.

"The Dornier aircraft has been found in the sea at a depth of 900 meters off Chidambaram (in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu). There is no information about the crew members," the Indo- Asian News Service quoted Coast Guard Commander East Region, Inspector General Satya Prakash Sharma as saying. The Dornier aircraft went missing on June 8 off the southern coast of India. The Flight Data Recorder was also located by Reliance vessel Olympic Canyon, according to Press Trust of India. An intensive search involving aircraft, ships of the Coast Guard, Navy and several other government agencies including the Coastal Security Group of Tamil Nadu Police have been carried out for weeks.
