Chinese President leaves for BRICS, SCO summit

Chinese President Xi Jinping left Beijing on Wednesday to attend the 7th BRICS summit and 15th SCO summit in Ufa of Russia.

Xi will attend the 7th BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) summit on July 8-9 and the 15th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on July 9-10 in Ufa at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Xi's entourage includes Wang Huning, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and director of the Policy Research Office of the CPC Central Committee; Li Zhanshu, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and director of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee; State Councilor Yang Jiechi and Zhou Xiaochuan, central bank governor and vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
