French stock market drops 2.01 pct on Monday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 dropped by 2.01 percent to close at 4,711.54 points on Monday, down 96.68 points.

The CAC 40 closed with 38 of the 40 selected companies experiencing decrease.

The only two gainers on Monday were Alstom, up 0.23 percent, and Pernod Ricard, up 0.05 percent.

The three companies whose stocks dropped most on Monday were BNP Paribas, down 4.24 percent, Societe Generale, down 3.78 percent, and AXA, down 3.26 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 closed with a slight decrease of 0.57 percent at 4,808.22 points, down 27.34 points. Endit
