Iceland's balance of trade switches to deficit in June

Iceland saw its balance of trade decrease to a deficit of 10.4 billion Icelandic krona (78.2 million U.S. dollars) in June, down from a surplus of 230 million Icelandic krona in May, Statistics Iceland said Monday.

Preliminary figures show the value of exported goods amounted to 56 billion krona, while the value of imported goods amounted to 66.4 billion krona in June.

Compared with May, the value of exported goods in June increased 1.67 billion krona, while the value of imported goods increased 12.3 billion krona. (1 U.S. dollar = 133 Icelandic Krona) Endit
