Xinhua, July 6, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) has called up 20 players to resume camp for the 11th All Africa Games (AAG) holding in Congo Brazzaville, an official said on Monday.

The invited players were selected based on their performance in the international and national competitions in the last one year, Nigeria's table tennis chief coach, Nosiru Bello, told Xinhua in Lagos, the country's business center.

Africa's most decorated table tennis player, Segun Toriola and 2014 International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) star player, Aruna Quadri top the list of 10 male players invited to camp.

Also, Seun Ajetunmobi, who has been out of the national team in the last two years will be returning to the team as one of the invited players.

The female players will be led by Germany-based Funke Oshonaike.

Bello said that 10 players made up of five male and five female will make the final list to AAG.

At the 2011 edition of the multi-sports championship in Mozambique, Nigeria finished second behind Egypt with three gold medals while Egypt won four to emerge as the overall best team for the first time since 1999 that Nigeria has been dominating the table tennis event. Endit
