HK's property deals down 7.7 pct

The Land Registry of Hong Kong said on Monday that 43,636 sale and purchase agreements for all building units were recorded in the region in the first half of the year, down 7.7 percent on the second half of 2014 but up 27.6 percent year on year.

The total consideration for these agreements was 311.5 billion HK dollars (about 40 billion U.S. dollars), down 7 percent on the second half of 2014 but up 46.6 percent year on year.

The number of assignments of building units was 53,238, up 0.5 percent on the second half of 2014 and up 36.3 percent year on year.

The total consideration for these assignments was 311.97 billion HK dollars, up 7.6 percent on the second half of 2014 and 58.3 percent year on year.

There were 2,480,710 land-register searches, up 2.6 percent on the second half of 2014 and up 14.2 percent year on year. (1 U.S. dollar = 7.75 HK dollars) Endi
